Ruturaj Gaikwad Could Be Next CSK Skipper: Former player Ambati Rayudu has made a big announcement about who will be the next captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team after Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Nothing is decided yet whether Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the most successful captain in IPL history, will play the next season or not. On the other hand, according to Rayudu, opening batsman Rituraj Gaikwad is leading in the race regarding who will get the captaincy of the team after Dhoni’s departure.
After being included in the Test team on the tour of West Indies, Rituraj has also been appointed as the captain of the Indian team for the Asian Games 2023 to be held in China. Apart from captaining the Maharashtra team in domestic cricket, Gaikwad also captained the Puneri Bappa team in the first season of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL). In the 16th season of IPL, more than 500 runs were seen with Gaikwad’s bat.
Ambati Rayudu said in a statement on the YouTube channel of BehindwoodsTV that Rituraj Gaikwad has a great opportunity to captain the Chennai team for more than a decade. Dhoni has prepared him in a much better way. The Indian team will also make full use of him, he is a player who plays in all three formats.

Since making his debut in the 2020 IPL season, Gaikwad has scored 1797 runs in 52 matches at an average of 39.07, including 1 century and 14 half-centuries.
