Kargil Vijay Diwas: The country is going to celebrate 24th ‘Vijay Diwas’ on Wednesday (July 26). The whole world recognizes the bravery, might and bravery of the Indian Army. On this basis, India has fought such battles, which are recorded in the pages of history today. Kargil war is also one of them. In May 1999, ‘Operation Vijay’ was launched to thwart the attempt of Pakistani troops to occupy Kargil district of Kashmir. During this, the soldiers of the army licked the dust of Pakistan in such a way that many films have been made on the story of their bravery.

This fight started on May 3, 1999, when Pakistan had infiltrated and captured the high hills of Kargil with more than 5 thousand soldiers. As soon as the Indian soldiers came to know about this, ‘Operation Vijay’ was launched to drive out the Pakistani soldiers.

This is how the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers came to know
According to the BBC report, Pak soldiers had made their bases in Kargil. On May 8, 1999, Pak soldiers were sitting at Azam Chowki in Kargil. Captain Iftekhar and Lance Havaldar Abdul Hakeem of 6 Northern Light Infantry were also involved with them. He saw some Indian shepherds grazing their sheep. Seeing them, the Pakistani soldiers thought that they should be taken prisoner, but then they thought that if they were taken prisoner, the herdsmen would eat their ration, so what would they eat, so they let the herdsmen go.

‘Operation Vijay’ lasted for 60 days
After an hour and a half, the shepherds came back with the soldiers of the Indian Army and after inspecting the surrounding area, they went back at that time, but after some time the Lama helicopter of the Indian Army came to the area. This helicopter was so low that Captain Iftekhar’s badge was also clearly visible. In this way, India overturned the lost game. Many Indian soldiers were also martyred in this war which lasted for 60 days and hundreds of Pakistani soldiers were killed. India’s victory was announced on 26 July and tricolors started hoisting on the peaks of Kargil.
