Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Before the next Lok Sabha elections to be held in the country, the clan of NDA is increasing. There was also a show of strength in the NDA meeting held under the leadership of BJP in Delhi on July 18. Meanwhile, now two leaders of NDA have staked claim to contest elections on the same seat. These two leaders are none other than uncle and nephew. After Chirag Paswan, now his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras has also talked about contesting from Hajipur seat.
Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party chief and Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras said on Saturday (July 22) that I will contest from Hajipur Lok Sabha seat only, this is my right. I am an MP from there, I am a cabinet minister in the Government of India and an old and trusted ally of the NDA. Earlier in the NDA meeting, LJP leader Chirag Paswan had also talked about contesting from Hajipur seat.
“Blessed Chirag Paswan”
Pashupati Kumar Paras told news agency ANI that Chirag Paswan met me and touched my feet during the NDA meeting, after which I gave him my blessings. It is our etiquette that if someone touches the feet of an elder, the elder blesses him in return. After this, some reports claimed that we have joined hands again. However, I would like to clarify that this is not the case.
Chirag joined NDA
Chirag Paswan rejoined the NDA after meeting BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the NDA meeting. BJP chief JP Nadda tweeted that Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan has decided to join the NDA. I welcome him to the NDA family. Chirag Paswan also touched the feet of PM Modi in the NDA meeting. After which the PM hugged him.
Were separated in 2020
Significantly, Chirag Paswan left the NDA in 2020 to fight against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) in Bihar, which was in alliance with the BJP at that time. There was a split in the LJP after the death of party supremo Ram Vilas Paswan. Chirag Paswan’s uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras was in NDA with his party.
