Chhattisgarh 2019 Tiriya Encounter Case NIA Arrested Six Maoist CPI Maoist

Chhattisgarh Tiriya Encounter Case: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday (July 21) arrested two people, including a woman, in the 2019 Tiriya Naxalite encounter case in Chhattisgarh.

Both of them belong to CPI (Maoist). NIA told that a search operation was conducted to nab both. With this, six arrests have been made in the case so far. In fact, six Naxalites and a civilian lost their lives in the 2019 Tiriya Naxalite encounter.

What did NIA say?
The NIA said that both the arrested people were in contact with top leaders of the CPI (Maoist). These people were working together with them. Together with the CPI (Maoist), both were conspiring to promote anti-national activities.

NIA told that during the search operation, we have found many objectionable material related to CPI (Maoist). The investigating agency further said that the CPI (Maoist) also provided funds to both of them.

What is the matter?
The Tiriya Naxalite encounter took place in July 2019. The team of Local District Joint Reserve Guard, Special Task Force and CRPF was going through the forest area near Tiriya. Security forces had received information that a group of Naxalites is going to carry out a major incident on Martyr’s Day i.e. 28 July. He is meeting to make a plan regarding this.

After the encounter, the security forces recovered handwritten documents and weapons. In the whole matter, on July 28, 2019, a case was registered under several sections including the Arms Act. NIA took this case in its hands on 18 March 2021. Since then NIA was probing the case.
