CBSE Board Schools: The Central Board of Secondary Education will now conduct studies in all Indian languages. Let us tell you that till now the CBSE board used to conduct education only in English medium. But now the board has decided that the board will conduct studies in different languages as well. According to the notice, schools affiliated to CBSE have been permitted to use mother tongue as an alternative medium of instruction from pre-primary to class 12th.
According to CBSE, this decision is in accordance with the provisions of NEP 2020. which emphasizes the important cognitive benefits of multilingualism for students. During this, many languages will be exposed with special focus on the mother tongue. The notice issued by the board today states that schools affiliated to CBSE may consider the use of Indian languages mentioned in Schedule 8 of the Constitution of India as alternative mediums from the foundational stage to the end of the secondary stage i.e. from pre-primary classes to class 12th, in addition to other existing options.
I congratulate CBSE for providing the option of education in Indian languages from kindergarten to class 12th in all its schools.
As per the vision of NEP, it will promote Indian language based education in schools. This is a good start towards better outcomes in education… pic.twitter.com/dhivp0rHzs

NCERT will prepare books
The board has made it possible for the students to study in the mother tongue. For this, keeping in view the challenges like availability of good teachers, textbooks and time, it has also been asked to find out available resources, consult experts etc. At the same time, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, NCERT has also been instructed to prepare new textbooks in 22 scheduled languages. According to reports, the book will be available from the next session.
